Christmas Comedown

I am guilty of neglecting my blog again, but i promise i do have good reason!
As usual things do not go to plan. My little girl was due to start Playschool in September, leaving me quality time to make and write. Ha!!!! she was not having any of it. a Major hysterical crying fit and major separation anxiety has meant me leaving it for a term and trying to brace the subject again at some point in the next Month. This has obviously meant, that along with both my children s birthdays, preparation for Christmas and not to mention stitching and preparing for 4 Christmas craft fairs, i have been a tad busy. I have not had the energy or time to write. So today as baby girl is having a nap and my not so baby boy is busy drawing im taking some time to update my blog

My Christmas crafts fairs were quite a success this year the major seller was my Gingerbread man tree decoration.

New Addition Mini Bear

 My Mini Owl Cushion

Now that Christmas is over though i am slightly down in the dumps. I hated taking down the tree and i hated my husband going back to work.
But i am trying to cheer myself up with some new makes. Plus my little kiddies brighten up even the darkest day :)
Happy New year to you all.  x Hopefully be back soon x

Blog Neglect :(

Slacking again!!!

But for the first time in Ages i actually have the time and quietness to sit down and write my blog. Its the middle of the 6 week summer break and the kiddies have kept me busy. However tonight i have finally tired them out and they are fast asleep and Hubby is occupied with the footie!!
I have of late been stitching a few new things.
My Owl cushions! I have had quite a few requests for these too which i nice.

Hand stitched Framed Pieces...Which i Love doing!

I also have started to think about Christmas crafts. I really want to do something different for my craft fairs this year so have to up my game ha! I will keep this blog updated from now on especially since my little girl starts playgroup in 3 weeks time so i will have at least two mornings ON MY OWN!!!!

The Great British Sewing Bee

Well i didn't really know how this was gonna work, it's made by the same people who do the Great British Bake Off but i gotta say i LOVE it!!! Patrick especially brings a little something to it ;)
Anyway i have been thinking about making my own clothes but it is really daunting so once I've got some more practice on my machine i think i may actually try it. The GBSB has lots of tips and it always helps...i think......watching someone doing something as opposed to reading instructions. I cant wait to tune in next week.
As for me i have added a couple more items to my Etsy shop
 Vertical Garland

Patchwork Pencil case

Im now working on a cushion! Exciting times!

The Importance of Pressing!

Well!!!! I have been struggling with my Ipod case pattern and i must have tried 3 different patterns and done them each a couple of times......i was not happy with them, they were rubbish! They looked nothing like the pictures and were very hard to do. However in each of these i omitted to 'press' thinking it cant make much of difference. HOW WRONG WAS I!!!!!! Using the iron is something i hate at the best of times and because i have two young children i cant just leave it lying around so getting it out everytime is quite tedious and hard work.
I decided to give my pattern another try and this time PRESS....what a difference it has made. I shall be making the extra effort from now on it is well worth it!!!!!

Making that Leap!

I've got the machine, I've got the fabric, I've got the time, (as much as you can get with a 2 and a 6 year old)....but i haven't quite got the nerve yet. I have what need to start selling my sewed goods, except the courage. I don't know whats holding me back really, confidence? Anyway been working on a few more prototypes that shall go on my Etsy shop. (Link to follow soon)
This is a small teddy, my first try and my first go at hand embroidery. I have been practicing so that my finished models will be fit for sale :)

This is a Kindle Case

This is a Ipad Case

Fingers Crossed and Watch this Space, coming to a Etsy screen near you xx

Post Christmas Blues :(

When Christmas is over i feel so down. Theres nothing to look forward to now for ages and all the twinkly lights and 'Rum Pum Pum Pum' music is all gone.
I have been however trying to work out how to use my Christmas present...MY SEWING MACHINE!!!
Its hard work though i must say getting the hang of it, but i cant wait to become an expert at it.

In the meantime i have been making litttle garlands with some of my leftover 'stock' from the Christmas craft fairs.
